A barter marketplace for working craft
Trade your skills for the skills you need
List your business, post what you'll swap, and trade directly with artists and tradespeople near you. No cash required.
Takes you to sign-up.
How a swap works
From spare capacity to a finished job
Slow weeks are wasted hours. Tradehand turns them into work you needed done anyway.
-
List
Build a business listing
Show your trade, your services, a portfolio and the skills you would take in return. It reads like a craftsperson's page, not a profile form.
-
Post
Put an offer or a need on the board
Each post is either "I offer" or "I need", tagged by trade and location, with what you would trade for stated up front.
-
Propose
Suggest a swap and agree on scope
Pick a post that fits, say what you would give, and settle the details with the other member before anyone picks up a tool.
-
Track
Follow it from proposed to completed
My Swaps keeps every trade in one ledger: what you give, what you get, who with, and where it stands.
Inside the app
Three screens built around the trade
The Trade Board
A feed of "Offering" and "Looking for" cards you can filter by trade and distance. Every card says what the member wants in return. Sponsored posts carry a clear label.
Start my listingA business listing with a portfolio
Services, past work and "will trade for" in one place. People see what you do and what you need before they reach out.
My Swaps, kept like a ledger
Give on the left, get on the right, status beside it. Proposed, active and completed trades stay in one list.
The old way and this way
Trade your craft. Skip the cash.

Questions
What people ask before they trade
How does a swap work?
Find a post on the Trade Board that matches what you need, propose what you would give in return, and agree on the scope with the other member. Then track the swap from proposed to active to completed.
Is money involved?
No. Tradehand is built for service-for-service trades between artists and tradespeople, so the trade is the payment.
How does Tradehand make money?
Through sponsored posts and ads. Sponsored items on the Trade Board are always labeled as sponsored, so you can tell them from member trades.
What if the two sides are not the same size?
You agree on the scope before work starts. Propose a different amount of work, add a second trade, or decline. Nothing is committed until both sides accept.
Do I need to pay taxes on a swap?
In the US, bartered services can count as income. Tradehand does not give tax advice, so check with a tax professional about your own trades.
Who is it for?
Independent artists, makers and tradespeople: electricians, carpenters, painters, welders, photographers, muralists and designers who have spare capacity and need skills they would otherwise pay cash for.
Built around hands-on craft: a portfolio-style listing, a clear I offer and I need board, and simple tools to propose and track a swap.
